[ Autographs ] John S. Mosby Fine A.D.S. with initials "J.S.M." at the bottom of a carbon copy of a letter from fellow Confederate general Roger A. Pryor, 1p. 4to. on Department of Justice letterhead.In his letter (unsigned) Pryor writes his comrade: "...I wish you could have heard a talk I had to-day with General [David] Sickle-s! he has read your Stuart with delight, and with amazement at your accomplishments in learning o[f] the soldier. he expressed an earnest desire to meet you..." At the bottom, Mosby writes: "This is from General Pryor - a Confederate General - I knew him in Virginia. Afterthe war he went to New York & became a Supreme Court Judge. J.S.M." Afine association! Lightly toned, otherwise very good.
