Description:
[ Autographs ] JOHN J. PERSHING An unusual field-printed map, entitled: "Map to illustrate the Meuse-Argonne Offensive, First, Second, and Third Phases, to accompany report of the Commander in Chief, Nov. 20, 1918", showing the disposition of Allied forces from September of 1918 until the declaration of the Armistice on Nov. 11. Signed in a light area at lower right: "John J. Pershing, G. Hq., A.E.F., France". It appears that Pershing was asked to sign this map shortly after the termination of hostilities in Europe, probably as a keepsake for one of his staff. Slight stain below the "J" in "John", otherwise very good.
