Fremont D.S. 1p. oblong 8vo., Philadelphia, Mar. 2, 1868, an interesting bond issued to Fremont obliging the Southern Trans-Continental railroad to him for E1,000, which would bepayable in the form of a grant of fifty acres of Texas farmland from aparcel of eight million acres donated by the state to the railroad. Endorsed on verso by Fremont. As Fremont's name is actually printed onthe bond, he no doubt ended up with a great deal of land! Fine.
