[ Autographs ] JOHN B. FLOYD (1806 - 1863) Secretary of War and Confederate brigadier general who transferred arms to the South priorto the war, later fled Ft. Donelson prior to the battle there. A.L.S. 1p. 4to., Washington, May 11, 1834 to United States Bank cashier J. Robertson, in part: "...I wrote you last week relative to the draft which I drew...I will wait here...to hear from you and will then proceed immediately to Richmond with the money..." Some dampstaining affecting the right side of the letter resulting in some lightening toa few words of text and signature, a few tears at right margin, overall just good condition. Estimated accordingly.
