[ Autographs ] James Wilkinson 1757-1825 American Revolution brigadier general and a close assiciate of Benedict Arnold, he fought at Trenton and Princeton and joined the Conway cabal which sought to elevate Horatio Gates to command of the Army. As did Arnold, he later turned treason, seeking to separate Kentucky and ally it with Spain. DS. "Ja. Wilkinson B. Gl" 1p 7.5in x 3.25in Greenville July 14 1796 an order to the commissary to issue 45 pounds of beef to the Potawatomie Indians. Very good.
