[ Autographs ] JAMES CONNER (1829 - 1883) Confederate brigadier general who led his 22nd North Carolina at Chancellorsville and Gettysburg. War-date cover completely in his hand, signed in return address portion in left margin: "Jas. Conner, Brig. Genl.", addressed to a Mrs. H.W. Conner in Camden, S.C., possibly one of his relatives. Cover is evenly browned as is typical of Confederate envelopes of the period, otherwise very good.
