[ Autographs ] INDIAN DEED FOR HEMPSTEAD, LONG ISLAND An interesting manuscript D.S. 2pp. legal folio, [New York] Aug. 19, 1794 being a copy of "An Indian Deed, Entered for Capt John Seaman of Hempstead, ye 2d March 1666..." The deed reads in part: "...I Sagaporvihan Sachem of Micapeag, on the south side of Long Island in America...granted unto John Seamon...a certaine Tracts of Land Situate Lying and being upon the Southside of long Island..." The document bears the names of the various whites and Indians party to the transaction. Clean fold separation at center, otherwise very good condition.
