Lot 424
[ Autographs ] HARRY HOUDINI (1874 - 1926) American magician known for his ability to extricate himself from handcuffs and locked and sealed containers of all kinds, and campaigned against mind readers, mediums, and other charlatans. Intriguing T.L.S. "Houdini" on a sheet of his personal imprinted letterhead, 1p. oblong 8vo., New York, August 7, 1925, to Remigius Weiss, likely a close relative. In part: "...I have re-written your Affadavit...don't you think your mentioning of Nurnberger Trichter or Funnel is rather ambiguous, that is the use of it? Read it over and see whether it could be more enlightening...".Attractively matted with blue and pink marbleized accents, burgundy date plaque, and black and white photograph of Houdini, framed in a substantial gilt frame. A fine, late example.
