Orange, N.J., [n.d., possibly 1864] In what could very well have been a letter alluding to his 1864 run against Lincoln for the Presidency, McClellan puts off meeting another man. In part: "...I start again in a few minutes for Morristown. It unfortunately appearsthat I shall be away all the time for the next two weeks - at least Ishall be at home [?] uncertain intervals that I cannot fix beforehand.. defer making an appointment until after the 3rd of November...
