[ Autographs ] FRANKLIN D. ROOSEVELT Fine content D.S. "Franklin D. Roosevelt" as Governor on his executive letterhead, 1p. 4to., Albany,[n.d. but ca. 1932]. A typed message entitled "A Greeting to Sportsmen", in part: "...I have a special interest in the thoughts anddoings of hunters and fishermen and all other out-of-door sportsmen because for as long as I can remember I have been an enthusiast in thematter of the preservation of the forms of natural wealth...In New York State we are devoting a lot thought and effort to saving values of this kind...We think it important to preserve opportunities for gunning and fishing, camping and hiking in wild natural forests -- thesort of pleasures our ancestors knew -- because....they build stability of character as well as health...[and] also give us a fine chance to practice the sort of co-operation for the common good that we need more and more...I do not hesitate to commend to the American people the true sportsman's attitude toward our natural resources, toward his fellow man and toward life in general...". Sold with a T.L.S. "Franklin D. Roosevelt" on his executive stationery, 1p. 4to., WarmSprings, May 21, 1932, to James B. Prentiss of the National Sportsmen's League enclosing the greeting for his leaflet "Roosevelt the Sportsman". Both boldly signed, and very good, matted together andready to frame.
