[ Autographs ] (Francis Hopkinson) A most interesting relic, Hopkinson's personal shaving kit. The box is made of wood, measuring about nine inches long and from two to three inches wide, obviously hand-hewn. There is a sliding notched wooden cover atop a compartmentcontaining Hopkinson's bristle shaving brush, about five inches long and tied with a waxed twine. The kit has another compartment which atone time must have contained soap. With notarized letter of provenance from a direct descendant certifying that the item is genuine and has remained in the family until this time.
