[ Autographs ] EUGENE DE BEAUHARNAIS (1781 - 1824) Son of Alexandre and Josephine, served Napoleon in Egypt and was made by Napoleon Viceroy of Italy, later commanded forces in the Russian campaign. Manuscript L.S. "Eugene Napoleon", 1p. 4to., Milan, Apr. 10, 1806 sending to Paris a talented young artist from Bologna: "...he wants tosee Paris, he wants to learn, under your guidance, how to draw everything appropriate to natural history...he will receive from me a pension of 200 francs a year...I do not want this young Italian artist to be lost to his country..."
