"Emma" 2pp. 4to., Jersey, May 1, 1933 to Ella Pomilia, with whom she became acquainted while serving one of her numerous prison terms for her activities in the United States. Goldman apologizes for not writing sooner and regretting that she had ever begun "...this business of L'adunato. I never cared what people wrote or said about me. I don't know what possessed me to write you or any other friend about the wretched affair. Of course the editor grabbed the straw of the one sentence which unfortunately had been badly translated...The whole spirit of the article was rotten. However I really don't give a damn..." Goldmanthen makes some observations about he recent election of Franklin D. Roosevelt: "...I have enough imagination to realize how frightful it must be. I dare say the stupid mass now clings to the hope that Roosevelt is going to perform miracles. Yes, the stupid credulous mass After Germany one loses faith in the future of humanity. For after all Hitler like Mussolini and Stalin could never be dictators if the mass were not back of them. It is all so discouraging..." Fine condition.
