[ Autographs ] Elbridge Gerry 1744-1814 Signer of the Declaration of Independence and member of the Continental Congress who opposed ratification of the Constitution as drafted. Unusual D.S. 2pp. 8vo., [Boston], Oct. 15, 1791, a partly-printed United States Loan Office bond in the amount of E277.02, bearing fancy printing and an attractive eagle vignette, issued to Gerry. On the verso Gerry discharges the debt, having the amount credited to his account. Punchcancel not affecting signature. Fine.
