[ Autographs ] EDWARD VIII (1894 - 1972) King of England whose abdication of the throne in order to marry American divorcee Wallis Simpson rocked Great Britain and led to his spending the balance of his life in self-imposed exile. His signature with short inscription on his official letterhead, mounted to the blank flyleaf of his memoirs A King's Story, London, Cassell and Company, Ltd., 1951, firsted. Inscribed "To George Tyler with best wishes from Edward September 1951" in blue ink. Tyler was a courier for Thomas Cook Travel and essentially served as Edward's travel agent. The book bears only light soiling, boards somewhat loose, otherwise very good condition.
