[ Autographs ] DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER (1890-1969) 34th President of theUnited States, Supreme Commander of Allied forces in Europe during World War II and largely responsible for the successful invasion on DDay. T.L.S. "Dwight Eisenhower" signed just three days after the invasion of Normandy, 1p. 8vo., June 9, 1944 to a lady in England, a friendly letter which Ike took the time to write while his men were clawing their way off the beaches and into hedgerow country. In part: "...[my mother] will be very delighted with the handkerchief. My thanks, also, for the ribbon for my little Scottie. It was most generous of you..." Heavy folds with a few pinholes in margin, slight soiling, generally good to very good.
