[ Autographs ] (Confederate Imprint) Printed document, 2pp. 8vo., Confederate House of Representatives, Feb. 5, 1863, an act providing an export duty to be charged for cotton and tobacco exported to nations not recognizing the independence of the Confederate States. This legislation was intended to serve the dual purposes of raising funds for the Confederacy while placing economic pressure upon those nations not recognizing her existence. Very good.
