[ Autographs ] Clyde Barrow 1909-1934American gangster and founderof the "Bonnie and Clyde" gang, with Bonnie Parker he terrorized the Southwest for four years robbing banks and stores and gunning-down thirteen civilians and lawmen along the way. A third member of the gang, Henry Methvin tired of his life on the run betrayed the duo to Texas Ranger Frank Hamer and plans were made to trap the pair. on May 23 1934 Hamer and his Rangers prepared an ambush at Gibland, Louisiana and as Barrow and Parker passed in their car they were shot to pieces in a hail of gunfire. Excessively rare A.L.S. on the verso of a postcard Cuidad Juarez (Mexico) Sep. 30 1929 in pencil. While on a vacation in Mexico with his girlfriend Barrow takes a moment to write his mother and fillher in on his leisure activities. He writes: "hello Mother Just fine. We are in old Mexico drunk as hell. Will see you in about 3 weeks. Clyde & Grace" In the address portion he writes Mrs. H.B. Barrow R. 6 Dallas, Texas West Dallas" thus signing his first and last name on theletter. The verso of the postcard shows the Lobby Bar and Cafe where Clyde and Grace were spending their time constructively. Within a yearof the writing of this letter, Barrow would team up with Bonnie Parkerand embark on a four year crime spree culminating in their betrayal and ambush at the hands of the Texas Rangers.
