[ Autographs ] CLARENCE DARROW (1857 - 1938) American lawyer who defended Eugene Debs, Leopold and Loeb, and John T. Scopes in the infamous "Monkey Trial". His autobiography The Story of My Life, Charles' Scribner's Sons, New York, 1934, boldly inscribed on the halftitle page: "Presented to Henrietta Oldham April 30th 1934 Clarence Darrow". Slight dampstaining to the lower part of the front and back covers, not affecting the inscribed page or any of the contents, with chipped dustjacket, overall very good.
