[ Autographs ] Clara Barton 1821-1912 American nurse who tended the wounded in the Civil War and later founded the American Red Cross. A.L.S. 2+pp. 8vo., Glen Echo, Oct. 10, 1906 to Miss Kensel. In part: "'.The Dr. intended to write he's approved of the choice of Dr. Mcqueen but finally could not see any good use of it... having the most entire confidence in the judgment of his informants, why should he not concur, which he did... he is working within an inch of his life,to make up for lost time..." Small ink spot in text, otherwise fine.
