Description:

[ Autographs ] CHESTER NIMITZ (1885 - 1966) American admiral, Commander in Chief of the U.S. Pacific Fleet during World War II and largely responsible for the successful "island-hopping" campaign against the Japanese. S.P. 9in x 14in b/w, an image removed from the cover of a wartime issue of "Life" magazine showing Nimitz dancing with an attractive girl in an evening gown at a U.S.O. function, signed in a light area. Fold wear detracts a bit, but still an unusual image. About good.
