In part: "...In my last letters to you I mentioned...that I had received a Commission as Col. of the 65th Regt. O. V. from the Governor...On my way to Washington I learnedthat Genl. McClellan had granted the necessary leave of absence and sent it to the Governor...My relations with the Regt. have been of themost pleasant nature, and my return was hailed with every measure of delight. This was certainly very flattering to me...". Some staining on last page affecting second signature, otherwise very good.
