[ Autographs ] (BURGOYNE'S CONVENTION ARMY) THEODORICK BLAND (1742 - 1802) Continental officer who commanded mounted troops in the campaigns in New Jersey and Pennsylvania (1776-77), later given command on the escort of Burgoyne's Convention Army from Connecticut to Virginia. A.L.S. 1p., legal folio, Hanover Town, [N.J.?], Dec. 22, 1778 to "The officer Commanding the Escort to the 4th Division of the troops of the Convention". In full: "Friday next will be a General Halt of the whole line when you will be pleased to Halt the Division under yr. Command." Margins slightly uneven, otherwise very good condition.
