Description:

[ Autographs ] (Bullet In Wood) A large caliber minie ball embedded in a 12in x 2.5in piece of wood recovered from a tree at the scene of battle at Honey Hill, South Carolina. The wood is in two sections which open to reveal the ball within. Undoubtedly fired by a member of the famous 54th Mass. Infantry, the colored regiment that would later assault Fort Wagner and become immortalized in the film "Glory" This is an early-recovered relic, the wood attractively varnished, and is fine for display.
