"Booker T. Washington" on Tuskegee Normal & Industrial Institute letterhead, 1p. 4to., Tuskegee, Mar. 2, 1897 to supporter Mrs. George Henry Quincy in Boston. In full: "...I thought perhaps the enclosed statement might interest you. We are making hard effort to get into a position to begin the building this spring. I should not push the matter at this time except for the fact that the securing of this building means a positive endowment for Tuskegee. Yours truly, Booker T.
