[ Autographs ] Benjamin Logan 1752-1802 Kentucky pioneer and a close associate of Daniel Boone whose garrison faced a weeks-long siege byhostile Indians until Logan escaped and returned with reinforcements he later led several expeditions against Indians, at Chillicothe and in the relief of Bryan's Station from hostile Indians under Simon Girty. D.S. 1p. sm. folio, Lincoln County, 1796 where- in Logan signsa lengthy listing of items purchased, including clothing tools, candles, snuff, and: "20 gallons Whiskey' Body of document is bold, Logan's signature has faded but remains completely legible.
