In part "...I have much pleasure in sending you one of Darwin's letters to add to your collection...He generally wrote omitting the year, but I think it is 1871. I do not know if you are interested in botany or gardening, or have any friends who are so. My garden is my chief occupation and amusement, and I take every opportunity to buy seeds orbulbs from my correspondents abroad. If there is any woodland near your city there must be a number of beautiful wild flowers a few seedsany of which sent in a letter would be very acceptable...".
