They are still in search of it - they are still in search of it. they are getting plenty of oil two miles below us on the crick land is nearly all leased or sold Will sold some of his land for a big pile oil fever [was high] [at Oil City] killing men for their money...' Much more great content. This area of Pennsylvania saw the construction of the first commercial oil wells and oil fields, and was John D. Rockefeller's entree to the oil industry.
