[ Autograph ] James And Dolly Madison Fine lot of two documents the first by First Lady Dolly Madison 1768 -1849 , lp. 4to., [n.p.,n.d.] signed in the third person at top "Mrs. Madison's memorandum for Mr. Taintringer' ' Mrs. Madison pens a lengthy list of goods and arts shewishes to have purchased for her in France, including among other things black silk stockings, a painting of Napoleon, shawls, bonnets,"shoes with heels", and a dozen "fanciful but very cheap snuff boxes..' Fine condition, with a signature of President James Madison 1751- 1838 , cut from a document and a bit wrinkled. Both are beautifully matted with portraits of both and an image of Montpelier, all within a gold frame. An attractive item for display.
