[ Autograph ] Isaac C. Parker 1838-1896 "Hanging Judge Parker", a circuit court judge who appointed 200 marshals and saw 65 of them slain, and passed 162 death sentences during his tenure at Ft. Smith. Scarce, fine content A.D.S. "I. C. Parker, Circuit Attorney", 2pp. sm. folio, Notaway Co., Missouri, May, 1865 Parker pens a legal doccument in a case of attempted murder, reading in part: '...In the Circuit Court of Notaway County Levi Stanbaugh with force and armed with a certain deadly weapon to wit a Rifle Gun loaded with gunpowder and a leaden ball had and held in and upon the body of J. Wilson feloniously, willfully and of his malice aforethought did make an assault with an intent to kill and murder...' Light toning, otherwisein very good condition, boldly and clearly written.
