Sveneink Lisiak writes home to his mother and sister from the dreaded Auschwitz concentration camp, wishing them luck for the new year. It is doubtful that Sveneink had any such illusions concerning his own prospects, for he concludes his letter with "Auf Wiedersehen'. The letter is written on the official Auschwitz letter form, and canceled at the camp.
