[ Autograph ] Harry S. Truman Interesting T.L.S. on his personal letterhead, lp. 4to., Independence, Aug. 15, 1963 to James M. Pendergast, nephew of Truman's political mentor Thomas J. Pendergast.Truman mentions that he has received a solicitation from a public relations firm which wants to make a film on Thomas J. Pendergast. hewrites: "...This is one of several I have received it seems to me this one has the best background...' Included is the solicitation from Orville Mcdonald Assoc., and a copy of Truman's letter to them which reads in part: '...if you are going to make a Kansas City Star picture that makes Pendergast out as every sort of a villain, which he wasn't, then I will have nothing whatever to do with you...' Threepieces, very good.
