In part: "..She had a Christian burial, a general attendance of the inhabitants of the village & vicinity & a Suspension of business & closed stores during the funeral - a respect I never before witnessed in the MiningTowns of Cal... my poor motherless children without anothers care & advice & I left alone in the afternoon of life, I never so fully appreciated Clara's worth...
