[ Autograph ] (George Washington) Ornate hand-colored engraving, 18in x 22in, an attractive piece showing Washington full-length wearing a Masonic sash and medal with his hand resting on his quote: "The grand object of masonry is to promote the happiness of the Humanrace". Around the image of Washington are portraits of Lafayette and Jackson (who also were Masons), religious vignettes, Washington's dates of birth and death, Masonic emblems and a prayer. Published by Strobridge & Co. lithographers, Cincinnati, 1867 A 6in tear at lower left repaired on verso, light scattered foxing and soiling.
