Patton 1885-1945 "Old Blood and Cuts" was one of the finest tank commanders in history, rolling his forces through Tunisia, Sicily, France and Germany until halted at the Rhine Fine content war-date T.L.S. on official Headquarters I Army Corps letterhead, Fort Benning, Ca., Mar. 28, 1942 to his sister Nita. Seven months before Patton's landings in Morocco to commence America's North Africa campaign, he comments on the military situationand personal matters. In part: ' '..I have been away practically all the time and on the two or three days I have been home I have been too busy. mile in Washington I got my project well started and in fact made a record of putting a thing through from Inception to completion in nine days. General [George C.] Marshall was very complimentary and for the first time. some of my men have already gone and the rest of us leave between now and the third.
