Rare partly-printed D.S. "Edward VIII' as King, 1p. folio, Court of St. James, Aug. 11, 1936 Edward signs the promotion of Hugh Holmes to the rank of Second Lieutenant in the LandForces. Blind-embossed royal seal is affixed at upper right, just beneath Edward's signature. In January, 1936 Edward gained the throne only to abdicate eleven months later, hence his signature as King israre. Three vertical folds, otherwise very good. Matted.
