[ Autograph ] Blanche K. Bruce 1841-1898 American politician. Born aslave, Bruce became a planter and politician in Mississippi and laterbecame the first black to serve a full term in the Senate. D.S. lp. folio, Washington, Aug. 11, 1890, as Recorder of Deeds Bruce acknowledges receipt of a deed to be entered in the city's records.
