AUGUST HEISSMEYER
(1897-1979) Waffen-SS leader, commanded the Battle Group Heissmeyer which fortified the Spandau airfield. T.L.S. 1p. legal folio, Berlin, Oct. 17, 1936, to the notorious Gruppenfuhrer Richard Hildebrandt in Wiesbaden, regarding a gift to him of a "Cassette with images of the SS-Leaders...from the Reichsfuhrer [Himmler], who, with this gift, sends a dear wish...". Hildebrandt (1897-1952), was leader of the Office of Race and Settlement of the SS, convicted of war crimes against Eastern nationals and hanged in Warsaw. Boldly signed in black ink at conclusion. File holes to left, otherwise very good.
