AUGUST HEISSMAYER AND HEINRICH HIMMLER
AUGUST HEISSMEYER (1897-1979) Nazi SS officer and Head of the Main Office, relieving Himmler in that capacity. Supervised concentration camps until 1939 to fight on the front line, leading a division in the defense of Berlin. Served three years as war criminal before heading a Coca-Cola bottling plant. Rare war-date T.L.S. , 1p. large 4to., Berlin, Nov. 2, 1941 to his chief, HEINRICH HIMMLER (who also has initialed the document). Heissmeyer thanks Himmler for having been invited to a November 9th presentation of banners in honor of deceased members of "our movement", honored for the "struggle and sacrifices of our movement". File holes at left, a chip at bottom margin, else very good. November 9th was the anniversary of Hitler's abortive "Beer Hall Putsch".
