Description:

ARTHUR SEYSS-INQUART
(1892 - 1946) Nazi occupation governor of Holland and deputy governor of Poland, executed as war criminal. Very rare A.L.S. as a prisoner at Nuremburg on one side of a postcard sent to his wife Trude in Austria, 5 1/2" x 3 1/2", Nuremburg, July 12, 1946. Using a pencil and writing in block letters (as required by prison rules), Seyss-Inquart writes: "...My Dearest...Nothing new from me. I hope everything is well with you. Now it would be time for you to write a letter. Are the 'old guests' coming to Mattsee? For today nothing more. With warmest regards, Your A. Seyss-Inquart Military Trials Nurnberg". On verso he writes his last name again in the address area of the card. Near fine, with a letter from his wife sending the postcard.
