APPOINTMENT AND PROMOTION DOCUMENTS OF SS-BRIGADEFUHRER AND WAR CRIMINAL JURGEN STROOP
Good pair of documents related to the career of JURGEN STROOP (1895-1952) SS Police Leader of Warsaw, who led the suppression of the Warsaw Ghetto Uprising in 1943 and was later executed for his role. Includes: Typed D.S., 1p. 4to., "Fuhrer-Hauptquartier", Oct. 22, 1941, notifying five offices that Himmler has assigned Strooop to the "Volksdeutsche-Mittelstelle" Coordination Center for Ethnic Germans, and will later be assigned to the original mandate in the Caucasus. The document is signed at the conclusion by SS liaison to the Reich Ministry of the Interior RUDOLF BRANDT (1909-1948), who would later be executed for helping to assemble a collection of Jewish anatomical specimens collected from murdered concentration camp inmates. Shows soiling and slight paper loss to the left edge, with file holes to the left margin, else very good.
