ANWAR SADAT
(1918 - 1981) President of Egypt who initiated the Arab-Israeli war of 1973 and later, with Menachem Begin and Jimmy Carter, hammered-out a peace treaty with Israel. Assassinated. Commemorative postal cover signed by Sadat, canceled Washington, Sep. 5, 1978 and bearing a small photo of Sadat shaking hands with a Marine Guard at the White House, signed by him in both Arabic and english characters. Framed with another cover honoring King Tut and a ticket to exhibition of his treasures, transmittal letter and envelope, and Egyptian flag and anthem.

Shipment is sent USPS priority, USPS International Express (for most overseas), DHL or UPS Ground at the auctioneer's option, signature required, unless other arrangements are made. Handling, shipping and insurance charges will be added to the invoice in one entry. Buyers should be aware that large, framed, fragile or odd shaped items can incur substantial shipping and packing charges. NOTE: Large, heavy or bulky items are not shipped by the auctioneer - arrangements for shipping of these items via a third-party shipper may be arranged through the auction house.
