ANTONIO DE LLANOS (15??-15??) Royal Treasurer of Potosi, Bolivia, the site of an iron mine that became the main silver coinage producer of the Spanish Empire by the 1560's. Manuscript D.S. as Royal Treasurer, in Spanish, 2pp., folio, Potosi, April 22, 1567, an order to sell Francisco de Chavez two hundred head of sheep at six pesos of silver per head, with half to be paid to the farm where the sheep are located. Uneven toning, slight ink bleeding of signatures, else fine. Included is a D.S. "Francisco de Chavez", 2pp. folio, Potosi, April 22, 1567, which likewise pertains to the pair's business arrangement for sheep. Uneven toning slightly affecting signatures, else fine. An interesting glimpse into daily South American life by the former conquistadors who had settled into the government and agricultural administration of New World lands.
