Description:

Rare anti-Semitic text, "Hofjuden" (""Court Jews"), by Peter Deeg, ed. by Julius Streicher, notorious publisher of "Der Sturmer" (Nuremberg: Verlag Der Sturmer), 1939, 547pp. 8vo., a highly biased and conspiratorial attempt to trace the influence of the "Court Jews" employed as bankers by European royalty in the early modern period. It is illustrated with numerous portraits of influential Jews, as well as reproducing documents and coats of arms, with several fold-out genealogical charts in the back matter. The frontispiece features a full-color caricature of a member the Rothschild banking family as a "businessman of every branch", and the book is prefaced by a quote from Adolf Hitler. Bound in blue cloth boards with gilt titles, shows slight bumps to the corners and interior wear, else very good.
