Description:

Rare color printed broadside", 12 1/2" x 18 1/2", released by German communists in opposition to Adolf Hitler and his NSDAP during regional elections held on April 24, 1932. The broadside is entitled "Was braucht das Handwerk?" ("What Does the Craft Need?"), above an illustration of a bloviating Hitler tossing sand into the eyes of German workers. It continues with a lengthy explanation of the anti-labor and poorly considered economic philosophies of Hitler and the NSDAP, specifically calling out his flaunting of the Treaty of Versailles as damaging Germany's standing among her international trading partners. At bottom appears an illustration of a German citizen delivering a swift kick to Hitler's rear, with the declaration: "No! Give him the right answer on April 24!". The broadside shows toning overall, with notable damp stains to the bottom edge, else very good. Unfortunately, both these regional elections and the later federal elections of 1932 went heavily for the NSDAP, cementing Hitler's power and assuring his chancellorship.
