Description:

ANTI-AMERICAN PRE-WAR CHINESE NEWSPAPER
Chinese newspaper, "Workers and Peasants Pictoral", dated June 20, 1938, 3pp. oblong folio, printed in red, blue, and black, with illustrations on the front page appearing to comment on aid given to the Japanese by the United States, as represented by Uncle Sam. After arriving aboard American warships, Sam takes undue advantage of the situation by failing to crush the Japanese troops, but is eventually beaten back by the workers and farmers of China. The interior pages contain several articles of interest, including a notice of the death of Fu Xuecai, who was executed by firing squad for treason. Toned throughout, chipped at the edges, else very good.
