ANDREW W. AND RICHARD B. MELLON
(1855 - 1937) American financier made wealthy through careful investments in coal, coke and iron, and banking. A pair of typed D.S.s 1p. oblong 8vo. each, Pittsburgh, Feb. 13, 1909, formal proxy certification notices relaying that the Mellon brothers: "…hereby constitute and appoint John C. Slack or John W. Chalfant, Jr., my proxy, for me and in my name and behalf to vote all my stock at the Annual Meeting of the Stockholders of the Union-Fidelity Title Insurance Company…". One signed by Andrew, the other by his brother "R. B. Mellon". Very good condition, two pieces.
