(Andrew Jackson) Newspaper endorsement for the election of Andrew Jackson, appearing in the Schoharie Republican, Schoharie, New York, Oct. 10, 1828, 4pp. The front page carries the paper's endorsement of Jackson for President and Calhoun for Vice President, with quotations of Jefferson, Madison and Monroe endorsing the candidate. There is also an endorsement of future President Martin Van Buren for Governor of New York, with lengthy editorial commentary further supporting Jackson and denouncing Adams and Clay. A few light stains, otherwise quite good.
