Description:

ANDRE CITROEN
(1878 - 1935) French automobile manufacturer who introduced American mass-production techniques to produce affordable cars for the public. Uncommon T.L.S. on his company letterhead, 2pp. 4to., Paris, May 11, 1926, in French to Madame Rachel Boyer, in part: '...I indeed received your letter...which was attached to that of Mr. d'ESTOUNRELLES de CONSTANT...If I was able, in the past to consent to this last very special condition, today it is materially impossible for me to give him satisfaction, no longer making, in any case, the least reduction in the established prices. In addition, I find myself equally obligated to stop taking cars back. However, desiring to be kind to you as much as possible, I will very willingly make - exceptionally - to Mr. d'Estournelles de Constant the exchange of his present car for a CONDUITE INTERIEURE STANDARD averaging a balance of 12,000 francs. If these conditions are agreeable to him...have his car brought to the SERVICE COMMERCIAL to whom I am giving instructions accordingly...". Fine.
