Description:

ANDY WARHOL (1928-1987) American artist and the founder of pop art who gained instant notoriety with his depictions of art as already familiar images, such as the Campbell soup can and Brillo boxes. An extraordinary and certainly unique, indeed quintessential piece of "artwork" by Warhol, a dinner roll bearing his bold marker signature, executed ca. late 1960s in his Factory in New York City. Obtained in-person by one of the Factory regulars, with a letter attesting to such provided, meticulously preserved and in pristine condition. Certainly worthy of display, and certainly a work of art infused with Warhol's spontanaiety and irony, causing one to reflect not only on the durability, but the very definition of "art". The original owner of the bread was a Factory regular who lived with Edie Sedgwick during the filming of Poor Little Rich Girl.$700-900
